Joanna Cobb Biermann is visiting assistant professor of musicology at Indiana University. Affiliated with the Beethoven-Archiv in Bonn for a number of years, she is the author of the catalogue of the first and early editions of Beethoven's works in the collections of the Beethoven-Haus and contributes to the Kinsky-Halm revision project. She will be editing Beethoven's small piano pieces for the Neue Gesamtausgabe.

Tim Carter, formerly at the Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, University of London, is David G. Frey Distinguished Professor of Music at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is the author of various books on music in late Renaissance and early Baroque Italy, including Monteverdi's Musical Theatre and the Cambridge Opera Handbook on Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro. His monograph on Rogers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma! is forthcoming from Yale University Press.

Scott DeVeaux is associate professor at the University of Virginia, where he teaches courses in jazz, music theory, and twentieth-century music. His book The Birth of Bebop (1997) won numerous awards, including the AMS Kinkeldey Award.

Nicholas Marston is university reader in music theory and analysis at Cambridge University and a Fellow of King's College. His book on Schenker's unpublished Erläuterungsausgabe of Beethoven's "Hammerklavier" Sonata will be published in 2007.

Seow-Chin Ong is associate professor of music history at the University of Louisville. He is currently preparing a facsimile edition, with transcription and commentary, of Beethoven's Landsberg 11 Sketchbook for the University of Illinois Press.

Robin Wallace is associate professor of musicology at Baylor University. He is the author of Beethoven's Critics: Aesthetic Dilemmas and Resolutions during the Composer's Lifetime and coeditor and translator for the series The Critical Reception of Beethoven's Compositions by His German Contemporaries.
